TimLee3
good2b3

TIM LEE 3 Good2b3 Good2b3 is Tim Lee's newest release with his band Tim Lee 3. The album from this Southern trio is a combination of narcotic ballads and faster, potent tunes. The songs are filled with dual vocals from Tim himself and Susan Bauer, who also plays bass. Rodney C. Cash (no relation, although you'd swear he was kin to W.S. Holland) rounds out the "3" on drums and percussion.

The cd was recorded and mixed at WaveLab Studio in Tucson, Arizona, in February and November, 2007, by Chris Schultz and Craig Schumacher (Calexico, the Sadies, Los Lonely Boys, Neko Case).

Striking the perfect balance between stomp and shimmer, longtime rocker, Tim Lee's new band TimLee3, steps out with a rousing rocker that recalls the roar of vintage Smithereens, the twang of Uncle Tupelo, and the straight out rock n' roll of the Sonics. This is indie southern rock that will appeal to fans of The Drive-By Truckers, Son Volt, and Whiskeytown.

PRE ORDER CD NOW! Official Release Date is May 20. Paisley Pop will ship out so that you receive on the day of release.

The TRIPWIRES
Makes You Look Around

Listen to clips on player below, or download mp3 samples under tracklisting:

The incredibly talented singer-songwriter for the Model Rockets during the 90s, John Ramberg has also been known as the Minus 5's "Secret Weapon" on lead guitar and lead and backing vocals working along side Scott McCaughey (Young Fresh Fellows, Robyn Hitchcock & The Venus 3, R.E.M.) and Peter Buck (R.E.M.). Ramberg has also written, recorded and toured with country chanteuse Neko Case.

Between four studio albums and many tours of Spain with the Model Rockets, Ramberg began work on a solo album with the help of drummer Bill Rieflin (R.E.M., Ministry, Minus 5). Those sessions evolved into the formation of the group The Tripwires with his pals, Johnny Sangster (noted engineer for Mudhoney,The Posies), Jim Sangster (Young Fresh Fellows, Sgt Major, The Picketts) and drummer Mark Pickerel (Screaming Trees, Mark Pickerel and His Praying Hands, Neko Case).

The group finished the album with a little help from the ubiquitous Scott McCaughey (organ, piano, bass harmonica, vocals, etc) and Kurt Bloch (Fastbacks, Mudhoney, Supersuckers), who mixed and mastered it. The group has honed its live show with regular gigs at Seattle’s clubs as well as the SXSW Music Fest in Spring of 2007.

"makes you look around" is a rock & roll record, but it isn't all down and dirty; it' bright, propulsive, and poppy, filled with big melodic hooks with polish that glistens at the all right moments. It's a masterful fusion of pub rock classicism, new wave pop,and pre-Beatles rock & roll - particularly Chuck Berry and The Everly Brothers, that bristles with energy.

From the opening rocker Lessonpony thru the the glorious pop perfection of Big Electric Light, the honky tonk thunder of Monument, a barnstorming version of Chuck Berry's Tulane to the loose-limbed snap and up-beat rockabilly of the closer, Sold Yer Guitar Blues, Ramberg and co. have created a brilliant modern rock & roll album inspired and informed by the past. Albums this effortless sounding are rare jewels. If you're an aficionado of this style of buoyant Brit Pub rock, "makes you look around" is absolutely indispensable!

MILKSHAKE JONES
Gala Days

Pennsylvania power-popsters Milkshake Jones return with their sophomore LP, "Gala Days," produced by Michael Giblin (ex-Cherry Twister, Parallax Project). The ten tracks shimmer with 12-string guitars, unforgettable melodies, and bandleader John Micek's razor-sharp lyrics.

"Gala Days" picks up where the band's self-titled debut left off, with hook-heavy pop tunes that hit you straight in the heart even as they make you move your feet. Not to be missed.

BOBBY SUTLIFF
On A Ladder

Wow! From start to finish, this may be Bobby’s finest solo disc yet. There is a terrific flow between the tracks, and “Never A Time” will compete for “Song of the Month” - if not “Song of the Year” honors. In Bobby’s own words, this song “has my best Jim McGuinn impression ever … Think a bit of Eight Miles High or Why. I think I nailed the exact tone.”
-Eric Sorensen, Fufkin.com

Known to some as co-leader in the 80's (along w/Tim Lee) of indie pop band The Windbreakers, this 2007 release that, after following the transcendent Perfect Dream ups the ante to another creative level. Featuring Guitar and mixing contributions from Chris Stamey (dB’s). Jangle pop at its finest!

CRACK CITY ROCKERS
The Good Life

Crack City Rockers were born spring 1999 above the old Kelly s Olympian Saloon in downtown Portland Oregon. One half past Hypermarket (Eric S Gregory on vocals and rhythm guitar) and one half ex-Bumpity (drummer Curt Schulz), immersed in the Only Ones, old Alex Chilton covers, and nostalgic for an 80s that almost was (remember- college radio didn t have to become just another market ), the band took limbs, accumulated songs, gained and lost citizens, and never really took commercial flight. But the band continues (endurance is a very powerful virtue). Presently, the two original members are still here and accounted for, and newest comrades Ken Coleman (lead guitars and vocals) and Matt Sherman (bass guitar) carry on carrying the load.

The Good Life, co-produced by Larry Crane (Sleater-Kinney, The Decemberists), finds the band stronger than ever with lead guitarist Ken Coleman's work here recalling the playing of Lenny Kaye, Robert Quine, and Tom Verlaine. The team of bassist Matt Sherman and Curt Schulz are a tight rhythm section that brings to mind the Rick Buckler and Bruce Foxton of the Jam.

SALIM NOURALLAH & THE POLAROIDS
Pleasantry Lane

Since the year 2000, Salim Nourallah’s music has consistently garnered critical accolades, including being the inclusion of Polaroid in The Dallas Observer’s Top Five Albums of 2004, and the double disc reissue of Nourallah Brothers (2004) being lauded by KCRW’s Eric J. Lawrence, as one of the top ten cds in the last decade. Moreover, the reissue debuted on KCRW in their top 30, and was the only small label release to make that illustrious list. This praise heads a long list of critical and popular appreciation, as evidenced when Nourallah played SXSW 2004 to a packed club, for his professional debut of Polaroid. 2006 found Nourallah's albums licensed in Germany and a tour of Europe followed. The Dallas Observer once again honored Nourallah with Best Album (Beautiful Noise), Best Song ("The World Is Full of People Who Want to Hurt You"), and Best Producer.

Much of Nourallah’s solo work has been created and recorded at his own studio, Pleasantry Lane (a veiled reference to another lesser known studio). Since the commercial opening of the studio at the beginning of 2004, Pleasantry Lane has been a recording nexus for such disparate yet talented folk as : Rhett Miller, Old 97s, Deathray Davies, Earlimart and the Damnwells. Undoubtedly, Salim’s focus for the last half of 2004 was creating and recording his recent opus, Beautiful Noise. This pensive, finely wrought collection reveals Salim brooding on themes of mortality, aging, lost love and, refreshingly, hope as an antidote to despair. His keen pop sensibilities shine through in this meditative song cycle, in songs such as “Montreal”, a McCartney-esque anthem to the joys of coupledom and “The World Is Full of People (Who Want to Hurt You)” a ballad filled with fatherly worries and love. In this work, Salim widens the thought-provoking territory of Polaroid, and reaches the depths of any listener’s emotional resonance.

On Pleasantry Lane, Nourallah gathered his band, The Polaroids (John Dufilho: drums Jason Garner: bass Meri Knoll: keyboards), for a live in-studio session that gathered together songs not only from his solo albums, but also from his Paisley Pop debut EP "A Way to Your Heart" as well as the Nourallah Brothers.

BIOGRAPHY:
Born in Alton, Illinois, the eldest child of Fayez and Karen. Salim's mom was an art major, his dad an accountant. In 1970, the family moved to El Paso when Salim was just 3. When Salim was 9, he saw the Beatles' "White Album" in Kmart and got his grandmother to buy it for him. The album changed his life.

When Salim was 16, he started writing songs. His brother Faris was the only one who believed they were worth a crap and started playing drums. Salim played guitar. Faris sold his car for a drumkit then moved to guitar, and Salim moved to bass.

The family then moved to Denton, which Salim hated. Salim and Faris made Nourallah Brothers in 1999 on an 8-track then quit playing music together. Faris released 3 solo CDs, while Salim released two (Polaroid and Beautiful Noise) plus one 6-song EP called A Way To Your Heart.
